Welcome!
Welcome to the NSESA Blog. This is a space that will be informative, honest, provide tips, new ideas and maybe even challenge what you thought you knew (in a good way!).
Introductions are warranted at this point. I am Sam, the founder of NSESA Solutions. A little about me… I have spent the last decade in international development from Haiti to Cambodia and everywhere in between, working for some of the most well-known development agencies, contractors and charities globally. As a daughter of Africa, I quickly realized a few things 1. There was little to no input from populations in the countries we were working in 2. Less than 5% of the people in my field looked like me, as “expats” yet they were making decisions at the national level about countries and cultures that they were so far removed from 3. The traditional “development” work seemed to under develop the very same populations we were supposed to be helping and had hidden agendas attached to funding. After a decade of this being my reality yet also soliciting feedback from fellow colleagues and members of the diaspora – I knew I could create something that could disrupt this cycle.
It is from these realizations, the vision of NSESA was born. What if we could help small businesses, and organizations strategically position themselves and properly prepare to obtain funding over time to actually provide sustainable solutions to their communities, networks and spaces they occupy? What if we could support clients to provide innovative options to ongoing issues? What if simultaneously our clients bring change and build revenue? Through NSESA, we advise, coach and partner with minority owned businesses in the USA and globally and provide them with the foundation and skill set in order to acquire public funds, change the narrative of their communities and circles as well as build and refine a new income stream for their business. Join us on our journey to ignite change.
